CROSS COUNTRY

Cross country is a sport any boy or girl can do.  All ability levels are welcome as long as they are willing attend practice and work hard. The Girls cross country team has qualified annually for the CIF State meet since 2012. During that period, they have won the NCS D-IV title, three times.  The team’s best showing at the state meet was in 2013 when the team placed 4th, just 9 points shy of a top three and podium finish. In 2018, the varsity girls team placed 2nd overall in league competition, with Sophia Zalewski winning the individual title, while the Piedmont Freshman/Sophomore girls finished first for an outstanding season.

The Boys cross country team also has a long history of success, qualifying for the state meet in 2017.  Although the 2018 season was a rebuilding year, there was significant improvement as the season progressed. The Varsity team tied for 4th for the season in league competition with San Leandro. The fastest freshman in the league was Seamus Chamberlin-Carr who placed 6th in the league championship meet. With 5 of our 7 varsity runners returning, the future looks bright for the Piedmont boys.
